The instrument came to me through a lawyer who settled an estate that took years. While it storage it was exposed to unkind temperature conditions causing the lacquer to check on the body. The guitar appears to have only been played lightly if ever. No rash or pick marks on the body, No fret wear, No rust, or wear on the Gold plated bridge and tail piece which always happens if played. The instrument is all original and the neck is straight and true with incredible action.
If you don't mind a lil mojo, which people pay thousands to have done to their instrument, you will have a heck of a way kewl deep dish caved top collectable Les Paul at an easy on the pocket price.


No finish checking is visible from two feet away. I enhanced the checking with bright light for your convenience.

1991 Gibson Celebrity Firebird with case. 200 produced! I purchased this instrument from its owner and have been playing it for several years. The Good these are not you’re run of the mill birds. They have Ebony fret boards which if you are unaware Gibson can no longer obtain. ABR Bridge and Tail Piece which transfer string vibration as opposed to the Nashville Tone Killer Bridge. The Rear pickup is more balanced and sounds a bit hotter than on the standard Firebirds. This might be due to the ABR. Neck is fast and slim frets are excellent. Electronics are original The Bad There is a stress crack in the finish of the neck joint (not a crack in the neck). It was there when purchased and has not moved or does it move. The headstock is stable and stays in tune without issues. The Ugly You can see how thick the finish is by the  chip in the finish of the neck from me resting it up against my amp.

If you have ever played a true 1957 Les Paul then you will be right at home with this one. A RARE R7 constructed from a deep dish 1 piece top, weighing in at 8lbs 1oz, It is not chambered. 

Verification from Gibson Customer Service "Thanks for sending the pictures. The instrument does appear consistent with a 2006 VOS R-7 with ebony finish and the COA is correct for that period of time. This particular instrument is listed as having a “one piece mahogany top. Thanks."
